If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

My phone rang while I was at home for lunch. Silly me, I picked up the call and said, “Hello?” The voice on the other side said, “Good afternoon. My name is Camille. I am calling because we see that you are not getting all the benefits you deserve from your Medicare, red, blue, and white card…” I was embarrassed that I answered the call and let her get that far into her spiel. If anyone should know better, it should be me. I hung up!

Now for what it is worth, I had 7 other calls in the past 72 hours, and I did not answer those. Today, let’s just say “curiosity killed the cat.”

Here’s the deal, as we get closer to Medicare’s Annual Enrollment Period it will get worse. For the love of God, please don’t answer these calls. They might sound good, but you are only looking for trouble. As the saying goes, if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Don’t call numbers from commercials or mailers.

And don’t call the number on your TV screen. I’m already getting tired of the commercial with the smiling seniors exercising in a pool. They say to call and they will find the best plan for you. Not completely false, but not completely true either. Here’s the real deal, they will find the best plan they have available from the plans they offer.  Not necessarily the best plan for you in your area.

Not to mention, you wouldn’t have a servicing agent. If you need help, you are on your own. In the past week we have helped multiple clients resolve issues they were having with their Medicare. And guess what, these people did not pay any more to have an advocate on their side.

Call us.

So, be prepared because an avalanche is coming. Phone calls like I’ve gotten in recent days, mail, and TV commercials. Ignore them all. If you have questions or need help with your Medicare, call us. We are one of central Indiana’s leading Medicare producers, and we live here. So, we know your market and will be HERE if you need help.

As independent agents, we offer most of the plans, and all the major carriers in central Indiana. We truly can find the plan that best fits your needs.
